Tatum Scores 25 as Celtics Eliminate Cavaliers
The Boston Celtics are headed to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third consecutive year after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 113-98 in Game 5 on Thursday night. Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 25 points, while Derrick White added 17 points, including the game-winning tip-in with just seconds remaining.
The Celtics took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring the Cavaliers 32-18 and building a 15-point lead. Cleveland rallied in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to two points with just over two minutes to play. However, Tatum made a key jumper to put Boston back up by four, and White's tip-in sealed the victory.
The Celtics will now face either the New York Knicks or the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals. The Knicks and Pacers are currently tied 3-2 in their second-round series, with Game 6 set for Friday night.
