Hugh Freeze: Auburn's Loss to Alabama in the Iron Bowl Was a "Heartbreaker"

Coach Freeze Praises Players' Effort, Discusses Recruiting, and Looks Ahead to Bowl Season

"It Was the Best College Football Atmosphere I've Ever Experienced," Says Freeze

After a demoralizing 27-24 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze met with the media on Monday to discuss the game, recruiting, and bowl season.

"It was a heartbreaker," said Freeze of the loss. "I'm really proud of our kids. They played their hearts out. We had a couple of plays in the final five minutes that we didn't make, but that's football."

Freeze praised his team's effort, saying that they "gave it everything they had." He also noted that the Iron Bowl atmosphere was electric.

"It was the best college football atmosphere I've ever experienced," said Freeze. "The crowd was amazing. It was a great environment to be a part of."

Despite the loss, Freeze said that he is excited about the future of Auburn football. He pointed to the team's three-game winning streak before the two losses and said that he believes the Tigers are headed in the right direction.

"We're going to learn from this loss and we're going to get better," said Freeze. "I'm confident that we're going to have a successful season next year."

Freeze also discussed recruiting and bowl season. He said that he is looking forward to adding some talented players to the team through the transfer portal and that he is excited about the opportunity to play in a bowl game.

"I think we're going to have a good bowl game," said Freeze. "We're going to be playing a great opponent and it's going to be a great opportunity for our team to show what we can do."
